Chillin'

Chillin'

Who doesn't like to chill out in front of the TV and watch their favorite show on a relaxed Saturday morning?

Hooray for Thomas

Hooray for Thomas

You are looking at two dudes that are serious about trains. Grandpa Hahn accompanied Ben and Dan to Day Out with Thomas this year - they had a blast!

Froglet

Froglet

Back when Lily was brand new, her favorite way to sleep was like a little froglet with all her limbs tucked under herself on Daddy's chest. I think we have an identical picture of Ben at this age.

Yeah! Blackberries!

Yeah! Blackberries!

It was pretty dry around here in May, but we were still able to find some wild blackberries on our normal walking circuit around the neighborhood. After a few run-ins with the briary aspect of the bushes, Ben quickly went from picking blackberries off the bush to serving as the middle man and taking the blackberries from the picker to the bucket...or to his mouth. I could swear I picked a lot more blackberries than what you see in the bowl!

Bentakespic52307

Title says it all. Ben is doing pretty well in his initial forays into photography...as long as you hunch over to actually get into the shot. One day my entire head will be in the frame. Obviously this was a picture of Lily, not Lily and Mama. Hey, at least he takes pictures...I'm still working on Dan.

Spiderben

Spiderben

Typical Saturday morning around 7:30 a.m. We are convinced there is a superhero gene on the Y chromosome...right next to the dinosaur gene. It flourishes even in the complete absence of superhero toys or TV shows!

Fudgepop in June

Fudgepop in June

AKA the "fudge-ickle".
You have about three minutes to eat this on a summery June day in Florida. Ben had about ten licks...you can see where the rest it ended up.

Adoration

Adoration

Lily LOVES Ben. Everything he does elicits a very charmed, wide-eyed smile. Luckily, Ben loves to entertain his little sister....even when she is sleeping (sigh). I think this is the start of a beautiful relationship...and don't burst my bubble by telling me it will change when she is two and getting into all his stuff. I want to live in the moment!

Sweetness

Sweetness

At 7 weeks, Lily (or Boopie as she is more commonly known around here) is quite the charmer. She opens her eyes in the morning with a big, gappy-mouthed smile. Her blue eyes (just like her brother) light up and sparkle when someone comes to get her. It makes the heart swell!

The hair

The hair

Our little Joan Jett. I was never really a fan of the baby with lots of hair. Of course, that has changed. There are few things as wonderful as rubbing your face in the sweet, soft, fuzziness of newborn baby hair.
I love that it doesn't lie down and shoots out in every direction.

The chub

The chub

This is Lily's chubby little thigh at 2 months. I see the beginnings of some rolls!

Gooey smiles

Gooey smiles

We see lots of these. This one was taken at 8 weeks.

Just for Ben

Just for Ben

This little girl loves her big brother...and the feeling is mutual. I can always count on Ben to entertain Lily for about 20 minutes while I'm cooking dinner. No matter what he does, bounces her chair a little to roughly, screams, makes funny faces at her...she smiles.

The cheeks

The cheeks

Lily and Ben look quite different from one another. She doesn't look much like he did when he was an infant. He had much less hair that was reddish brown, but they both have those round little apple cheeks you want to pinch and munch on.
