Yesterday, my new camera arrived. Hooray!
And, yesterday, little miss sweet cheeks turned eleven months. Today, I snapped some pics to welcome the first day of spring. I have so much I want to say about our little firecracker, but it's getting late. So, I'll just share some snaps taken with my new camera, a quickie profile of the babe, and hope that tomorrow Ben will be well enough to be unplugged from his T.V.-induced coma to rejoin the land of the living.
Name: Lily June
Nicknames: Boop, Boopie, Bwap, Bwappie, Cupcake, Cookie, Baby Girl, Pumpkin
Height: Not sure, pretty petite
Weight: Right around 18 lbs
Parlor tricks: Claps (often in celebration of herself!), Waves "hi" and "bye" with fingers pointed towards herself (eek, the cuteness!), indian war chant, raspberries, signs cheese, gives big hugs on command, points, plays peek a boo
Understandable words: Dada for Daddy (always whispered as if struck by the wonder of the Daddy), tat for cat, Awt for out or outside
Favorite pasttimes: Chasing the cat, pushing stroller, walker, shopping cart, making a mad dash for an open bathroom door and unraveling an entire roll toilet paper with awe-inspiring speed (cackling all the while), opening only the cabinets she isn't allowed to play in (that is, ignoring her very own tupperware cabinet in favor of the cabinet housing the electrical appliances), animal watching (squirrels, birds, bees, they are all good), reading lift-the-flap books, bathtime in the little tub
Recent discoveries: Loves the beach- salty water, sand, and all. Loves dirt, like when helping Mama plant the garden, loves to pick flowers
What she despises: Your help, she wants to do it all by herself. Being held by anyone other than Mommy and Daddy (she is quite the charmer as long as you don't try to hold her!). Having anything taken away from her. Being interrupted to be carted off for a diaper change.
Favorite toy: Whatever Ben has in his hand, my car keys (there are no substitutes...not even other real keys)
Favorite foods: Will try anything and eat most everything she can feed herself though not a fan of avocado or banana (two of Ben's favorites at this age). She likes to eat what we have, and throw in some cheese in shreds or cubes too. Right now honey nut cheerios in whole milk, angel hair pasta with meat sauce, pizza, strawberries, pears, honeydew, alphabets pasta cooked in chicken broth with carrot rounds are in heavy rotation.
Other new things: Now sleeps with a pillow (her brother's huggie made by Grandma...shhh, don't tell Ben as he hasn't noticed just yet) and she loooooves it, waves bye to me after nursing and does a head lunge for the crib at night
I just want to squeeze that arm chub!
There she goes!Right before this shot, she stood, not holding on to the cart, for about 20 seconds.
This one makes me wistful. That shadow is not the shadow of a baby. She is already such a big girl!
What a cutie cakes :)
